Weston Call was well on his way to establishing a much needed cultural bridge between Big Sur locals and the global influx of tourists that sustain its local economy. Weston called this bridge a locally organized visitor experience, or L.O.V.E. Weston’s goal was to connect people to appropriate resources for a safe and meaningful Big Sur experience.

Weston knew that with a basic knowledge of one's place in Big Sur, a deeper understanding of its systems of ecology, historic narrative and Big Sur’s political trajectory, visitors would leave with a well-rounded geographic literacy of this delicate and beautiful place.

Now, Weston Call is being remembered as a “shining light” who worked to find creative solutions for a global influx of tourism to Big Sur. Weston Call was instrumental in the Big Sur Relief efforts after the Soberanes Fire and heavy rains of 2017 washed away the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge. He passed away on August 12, 2018.
